Clone Guard creates a film on the plant’s leaves that reduces transpiration, or the amount of water leaving the leaf, which thereby allows the plant to retain more water. This allows time for roots to develop without the clone/cutting to desiccate. 

Yes, Clone Guard is a very affordable concentrate. The dilution rate for Clone Guard is 4oz/qt bottle or 16oz/gal bottle. When using a fine mist sprayer, Clone Guard will easily cover the leaf surface with little to no waste. Hundreds of cuttings can be treated with a quart sized bottle when used in this manner!

When used as directed Clone Guard is safe to use, however, it is best if you spray it in a well-ventilated area if possible. 

While Clone Guard does a great job of keeping plants from wilting, the use of a dome over the cutting tray will depend on your environment and plant species. You should always test a few cuttings at a time to see if cloning without a dome will work for you. Domes tend to perpetuate the growth of powdery mildew so it is best if you can avoid using them if you can.

No, Clone Guard is safe and effective when used as directed. There are no ill effects to plants associated with the use of Clone Guard.
