Should I add a wetting agent to Nuke Em®?

Look for our wetting agent, SpreadCoat. SpreadCoat will be OMRI listed and made to work with Nuke Em®. It will be available for sale soon.

Yes, we are finding that using a surfactant or wetting agent helps Nuke Em® to cover the leaf and in doing so contacts the insects, larvae, eggs etc. Plants leaves, some more than others, have a waxy cuticle which will tend to shed water and or the Nuke Em®. By adding the wetting agent, the leaf will get full coverage. The analogy for cars would be a freshly waxed car sheds water in beads. Add a wetting agent to the water and you have no more beads but a sheeting action over the fender.

Adding a wetting agent will allow you to use less Nuke Em® as more spray will stay on the leaf; less will be on the floor or ground.

Update! Some government agencies are now directing labs to test for bacteria counts on dry materials. If your agency doesn’t differentiate between good and bad bacteria in testing, DO NOT spray Z7 on plants leaves and stems. Z7 is full of good bacteria.

Is Nuke Em® registered in Washington State for I 502? Yes!

Nuke Em® - Washington State I 502 Registration for use on Cannabis: http://agr.wa.gov/pestfert/pesticides/docs/Pesticidesalloweduseonmarijuana.pdf Look for Nuke Em in the Sections 25(b) area of the linked PDF.

Flying Skull Plant Products brings Nuke Em® to the indoor/outdoor gardening community. This multi-purpose insecticide and fungicide kills the eggs, larvae, juvenile and adult insects that feed on and ultimately kill plants. It targets all species of Broad Mites, Russet Mites, Spider Mites, Root Aphids, Leaf Aphids, Thrips, Whitefly and other plant leaf and soil insect parasites. Its unique formula also allows for outstanding control of the vast varieties of powdery mildew and mold found in the garden. Most of the ingredients are food grade ingredients that you would find in a loaf of bread! Brilliant!!

Nuke Em® won’t lower the value of your harvest like other insecticides/fungicides! You’ve worked hard for your customers, don’t lose them because your harvest didn’t taste or smell the same. Think about it; do you have customers that purchased from you but then they stopped? Was it after a crop you treated with insecticides or fungicides? Did those insecticides/fungicides have Pyrethrums, concentrated plant oils, petroleum oils or detergents in them? Don’t feel alone. We have gotten thousands of new customers because they lost profit from crops after they applied supposedly natural pesticides. Don’t worry; Nuke Em® is here to keep your plant value high and your customers loyal!

Pro Growers Note: When ordering Nuke Em®, order Z7 at the same time. Over 80% of the time, leaf insect and powdery mildew attack indicates root zone problems! Start using Z7 now! Z7 is amazing and very inexpensive to use. It has saved countless growers from major malfunctions and made huge differences in yield and crop consistency. Z7 cleans bio-film from roots and grow systems and greatly decreases the chances of toxic reactions from incompatible plant foods and additives. Z7 will release mineral ions from carbon bonds so plants can feed properly. It also greatly reduces mineral build up from soils and plastic.

Be wary of insecticides made with concentrated oils and detergents. These ingredients will plug and cover the plant’s leaf stomata and light cells reducing slowing plant growth, reducing water uptake, reducing photosynthesis and make it harder for the plant to recover from insect attack.

Oil and detergent pesticides slow the plant’s growth by restricting water from leaving the leaf. That’s why your plants had slow or stunted growth after you sprayed with oil- and detergent-based products. How do you know if you’re using oil- and detergent-based pesticides? Oil- and detergent-based pesticides look like milk or chalky water. Their oils are mixed with detergent and water but the ready-to-use spray smells like the oils it’s made with or the smell of the detergent. These concentrated plant oils include Neem, Rosemary, Pine, Peanut, Rose and others too many to mention. All oils need detergent to become soluble in water. If you spray oil based pesticides on a window and let it dry, you can write your name in dried spray with your fingernail.

I have a big infestation of broad mites, what are my options?

Because Nuke Em® is a contact killer it is very important that every mite and egg come into contact with Nuke Em®. Even in the best conditions with careful applications it is very hard get complete coverage on the first spray. Use Flying Skull’s wetting agent, SpreadCoat, to help Nuke Em® stick to the leaf and get good coverage. (SpreadCoat coming soon)

Growers are reporting to us that they have had good luck with these MODIFIED applications. Remember to wash all other insecticides and fungicides off leaves before applying Nuke Em®. Modified applications are always best done by spraying a few plants and observing before spraying them all.

95% of growers that have insect problems have soil/growing mediums that are saturated with fertilizer causing the plant to become weak. The insects now have a home on a plant that can’t put up a decent self-defense. It is extremely important to wash this excess fertilizer from the growing media before the application of any brand of insecticide. Why? When the fertilizer in the growing media is higher than the osmotic threshold of the plant’s root system the plant becomes starved for water and the ratio of mineral ions become imbalanced. If the plant can’t get water from the roots, it will take water in through the leaves. If the water sprayed on the leaves has an insecticide in it, the insecticide will be brought into the plant for use in photosynthesis and vascular relocation. You never want to feed a plant insecticide. So, make sure the plant is fully hydrated before any application of insecticide or fungicide no matter the brand or type of insecticide.

Growing medium should be flushed in such a fashion that the water coming from the pot is no more than 50 PPM/TDS above the water supply’s PPM/TDS going into the pot. Only a PPM/TDS/EC meter can tell you this.

These initial flushing steps below will make sure that the plants will hydrate properly.

These steps will help the plant recover quickly from the initial insect attack and stress from insecticide applications.

1. Flush the plant site with Z7treated water. Use at least twice the amount of water than what the container holds in media; but more water is always better in this instance. (This includes plants grown in hydroponics.) Wait an hour and then pour a small amount of water across the top of the soil and catch the runoff for testing. You want to see this PPM number no more than 50 PPM above the PPM of your virgin water. The use of Flying Skull’s Z7in the water at the time of the flush, and continued use afterward, would of great benefit to the plants.

2. If you don’t have access to a hand-held EC/PPM meter, flush your plants very well with large amounts of water runoff three times and wait one hour before applying Nuke Em®.

After applying Nuke Em®, resume feeding your soil or soil-less grown plants. Always use the Z7 as it is a key factor in healthy plant growth.

This is the modified Nuke Em® application our customers said helped them with Broad Mite and Russet infestations. Let us know how it worked for you.

MODIFIED APPLICATION 1

DAY ONE: Apply one application at strong strength (lights turned to low level or if HID lights are more than 10 feet above the canopy), wait until it dries and then spray another application at strong strength, wait for it to dry and then spray another application at strong strength. (Three applications on the same day allowing the plants to completely dry between applications).

DAY THREE: Spray one strong strength application.

DAY SIX. Spray one strong strength application. Check for any signs of insects in the following days.

Use our wetting agent called SpreadCoat (coming soon) to help coat leaves and stems.

Think of Nuke Em® as brakes on your car. While driving, you don’t use your brakes all of the time but your brakes are a very important part of your trip. Nuke Em® should be used as a maintenance spray every week. No matter how careful you are insects and powdery mildew will enter the growing area. Large scale growers use Nuke Em® as a maintenance tool that keeps them from having problems that reduce harvest quantity or quality. Nuke Em® is a tool. It is part of the cost of doing business. It is better to bear the extra cost of maintenance than not have a good supply of quality produce when customers ask for it. Remember, customers will find produce elsewhere if you can’t supply them what they want when they want it.

Outdoor growers have reported successful maintenance programs to control Powdery Mildew by using this rate of spray weekly: 2 ounces of Nuke Em® to every gallon of water with the SpreadCoat wetting agent added at 5 to 10 mls (1-2 tsp) per gallon of water. See more in the FAQ section of this website. This rate will make 64 gallons of ready to use spray for every gallon of Nuke Em® concentrate.

Nuke Em® can be used ON the day of harvest or even after harvest. See the video of Nuke Em® increasing the shelf life of strawberries (applied after harvest).

Other insecticides, fungicides and plant washes use brain and body nerve poisons, detergents, chemical surfactants, petroleum or plant oil in their formulas that leave smelly, bad tasting and sticky residue on produce. Ultimately these ingredients will reduce the sales, desired flavor and smell of the gardener’s produce.

Anyone using Flying Skull’s Nuke Em® will immediately see a complete control of plant parasites and Powdery Mildew. At the same time, they will notice that Nuke Em® is easy to use, safe to spray, doesn’t smell bad, and did not reduce the value of the produce!

Nuke Em® is a multi-purpose product. It replaces many expensive single target pesticides and fungicides. This makes it very affordable. It can be used to kill hiding insects and mold on walls, floors and other gardening surfaces.

Nuke Em®’s highly concentrated formula must be diluted before spraying onto plants or garden surfaces. Read and follow all label cautions and directions. Nuke Em® has been in the lab for over 10 years prior its release.

8 fl. oz. concentrate makes up to 2 gallons of ready to use spray.
32 fl. oz. concentrate makes up to 8 gallons of ready to use spray.
1 Gallon concentrate makes up to 32 gallons of ready to use spray.

Nuke Em® is not registered with the US Federal Environmental Protection Agency. Its formula qualifies for exemption under FIFRA section 25 (b) as a minimum risk pesticide.

most amazing pest control ever!
This is the best pest/fungus killer I have ever used! I was skeptical, but it has proven time and time again in indoor/outdoor and even saved gardens badly infested in flower with no taste/smell in final product and I really like the fact you can use it in your house around kids and pets too. Many thanks to Gordon and his team at flying skull.
